Founded in 1979, Spectrum understands the complexities and growth of running a utility in the 21st century. In 1994, Spectrum expanded to engineering fiber optic communication networks and in 2003 patented a state-of-the-art SCADA system allowing for both distributed and centralized control of power systems, known as Utility Management Sentinel (UMS). Spectrum has designed numerous substations, distribution lines and fiber optic-based communication systems, participated in preparing cases for argument before the Federal Regulatory Commission, presented cases before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission and has successfully negotiated for territorial acquisition, special rates, conditions and service agreements for its clients.
Spectrum’s team of experts provide services for power engineering, communications engineering, and utility business consulting. Power engineering services encompass transmission and distribution lines, substation, SCADA and SmartGRID engineering services. Spectrum’s communications engineering team specializes in fiber optic networks, telecom, and data center services.
ENTRUST Solutions Group Acquisition
In August 2021, ENTRUST Solutions Group announced its acquisition of Spectrum.
