EN Communications provides a variety of assessments that can be combined and customized to create plans, strategies, and studies. Our assessments provide clear, detailed insights into the current state of broadband development, demand, supply, needs, and opportunities, which serves as a baseline for broadband development and Smart City initiatives. Assessments also reveal key impactful, easy next steps that lay foundations for future improvements. Analyses use the results of assessments to evaluate options for developing and using broadband. We offer asset, infrastructure, market, needs, conceptual network design, and operational assessments.
Data from assessment can be analyzed to ascertain and evaluate options for building and capitalizing on broadband. For this, we offer business model, financial, gap, and opportunity analyses. Each assessment or analysis results in one or more products, at very least a technical memo describing our work, the results, and what they mean to you. We also use various instruments or tools to generate data for our assessment that we provide to you when the work is complete.
EN Communications broadband studies are a combination of assessment and analyzes that chart a clear path forward for you and your community. We conduct our studies with our customers so they gain capabilities and expertise along with answers and directions. Where studies identify needs and how to best meet them, strategies focus on goals and options for achieving them. Like studies, our broadband strategies combine various relevant assessments and analyses. Both are intended to enable leaders to make informed, smart decisions about how, when, and where to invest in broadband.
Broadband business plans are for entities seriously considering becoming broadband service providers. Our plans use detailed assessments to define services, identify prospective customers and market opportunities, and prepare for competition. We provide full technical specifications, suitable for procurement, and financial projections. A detailed blueprint of network infrastructure, staff, and systems is an integral part of a broadband business plan, so it can be used as a guide for implementation.
Master plans are similar to business plans but for entities that do not plan to offer broadband and related services. We use a customized set of assessments to determine the current state, requirements for the future, and practical, economical steps to move from where you are to where to you want to be. A key element of our master plans is broad stakeholder engagement to ensure maximum value gain from the investment without having to enter new lines of business. Master plans include detailed designs and technical specifications, as with broadband business plans, along with governance structures and tactics for effective stakeholder engagement.
Smart Cities use technology to monitor activities in and the state of their build and natural environments, and to proactively respond in ways that improve quality of place, increase public efficacy, and reduce costs. Rather than focus on specific technologies, ENTRUST take a comprehensive, integrated, “full stack” approach that focuses on requirements for data and devices, including active input from community members and stakeholders.
As with our other services, our work on Smart Communities focuses on implementation—how to move forward and maximize the value of technology—by clearly addressing both practical and strategic issues. Moreso than our other services, Smart Communities are structured as a learning process (it’s smart to learn, after all) that develops capabilities and skills as well as infrastructure and systems. Our Smart Community plans are customized roadmaps with blueprints for key elements that need to be build, practical work-arounds for roadblocks, and ways to bring stakeholders along as partners and supporters.
ENTRUST provides the full range of telecommunications consulting services, from audits through migration plans to full-blown system evaluation, including outside plant, network equipment and engineering, and maintenance operations. We specialize in migrating enterprise wide-area networks and similar systems, such as SCADA and traffic management, to carrier-class networks, and in developing integrated hybrid fiber-wireless networks for electric utilities and local governments.
